Are you looking for a relationship with someone from the Church of Latter-day Saints? Whether you’re looking for friendship, dates or even a long term relationship, LDS Link Up has some surprisingly good tools, and what’s more, it’s completely free to use! You can chat to members using email or access one of the many discussion boards to get involved in a group debate.

The site has tens of thousands of members from across the globe, and a search feature which allows you to be very specific about the kind of person you’re looking for, right down to when they last logged in. However, it isn’t perfect, and if you’re not a member of LDS then you probably will not want to consider using this website.

Let’s start off with the positives. Well, it’s hard not to notice that the site is free to use, and that’s a great draw. LDSlinkUp do suggest that they have a paid subscription, but when we investigated it turned out that his had been abandoned, much to our delight. So, whether or not you meet anyone through the site, it won’t cost you a cent, which is always nice.

We were also impressed by the community feel of the website, which offers a diverse array of message boards, as well as letting you know about recent activity on the site. When you sign up, you can choose the reasons for doing so.

If you’re looking for a relationship, you can let them know, but if you’re just looking for friends then that’s also fine. In fact, they welcome members of LDS, irrelevant of their romantic (or otherwise) intentions. That makes it feel very inclusive and friendly.

The search features are excellent, allowing you to choose physical traits as well as lifestyle issues or personal qualities. We were pleased to find that you can also search for members based on when they last logged onto the site, meaning you won’t waste your time writing to people who never revisit the site. However, although the site claims it offers an instant messenger, we couldn’t locate it.

Also, there were a few discrepancies, such as proclaiming that there is a premium service when in fact there isn’t. On signing up you are also required to provide a friend’s contact details, which we found a bit intrusive. Generally, the information isn’t always consistent, and this could cause problems.

LDSLinkUp.com might not be the most attractive or exciting Christian dating website around, but it does a decent job, and it’s free! If you’re a member of the LDS church, we’d recommend taking a look and signing up, as you’ve nothing to lose.
